It all started when…

Leslie’s imagination was captured by bellydance in 1995 and she hasn’t been able to escape yet. Training first with the Cresent Dancers (Shifa and Rose) of Amherst, MA and Baraka (Jamilla and Josie Conte) of Portland, ME. Her adventurous spirit took to Japan where she trained Hawaiian Dance and saw the traditional fire rituals of Obon. Destiny brought her to Seattle in 2003 where she joined world famous pioneering fire and stilt troupe Pyrosutra and the studio of internationally renowned bellydancer Delilah of Visionary Dance. Overnight, her troupe took her from a girl with a dream to headlining summer festivals and music stages, being featured in national magazines, performing for prestigious sports events like the winter Olympic games and NFL half time shows. Pyrosutra even had it’s own tv special. It was on.

She was honored with the opportunity to perform for the cast of Cirque du Soleil with her ground breaking fire troupe Pyrosutra and accepted into the Cirque du Soleil performer database in Sept 2011 as a solo performer. She has created fire performances, stilt walked and bellydanced for everyone from Bumbershoot to Burningman. Appearing alongside national music acts and performing for celebrity clients in major music festivals, TV, movies, magazines and world class corporate and private events.

In addition to being an elite performer and master instructor, Leslie is the co-founder and director of vaudeville project “The Black Heart Society” and bellydance troupe "The Sirens of Serpentine". A proud native of the great state of Maine, Leslie will be making her home in Seattle until the circus comes to town.
